Alfreton Road, Offerton, Stockport. SK2 5PB
We have been meeting in Dial Park Hall since Easter 1980. Before that we met for six years in the Dial Park School that used to stand at the Cow Lane end of Blackstone Road. Stockport MBC had relocated us there when they demolished our previous building, Carrington Hall on Higher Hillgate near the junction with the A6. We had been in Carrington Hall since the 1940s. Before the war the congregation met in rooms on Mersey Square. The collective memory does not extend much beyond that, but the congregation has existed in Stockport since at least the early 1900s.
Throughout our period in Offerton neighbourhood we have had young people's activities which many children and teenagers living nearby joined in. Some of them still live nearby and know us well.
We don't have a "vicar" or a "minister". Instead the Christian men in the fellowship share the leadership.
